About The Artwork

Princess Zanne was known far and wide as the smartest, kindest, and most beautiful girl in the land. She rode the fastest horse and could often be seen racing and jumping throughout the kingdom wearing her tall pointy hat. She was easy to pick out from a distance since the hat was adorned with a bright pink scarf that blew wildly in the wind behind her as she rode. She would sometimes stop to play with little children on the beach or along the road and she taught them games and songs and poems. Everyone in the village loved the Princess... and almost everyone in the castle did too. Zanne was so smart she was often called upon to advise the King in matters of state. She was so kind that people always came to her for guidance, and some of her friends even wanted her to solve all their problems for them. But my Lord, was she ever beautiful, both on the surface and especially underneath! She was certainly a one-of-a kind girl. The big sandbar was a few hundred meters offshore, but beyond that and directly across from the waterfall was Zanne's Reef. She loved to go diving and swimming there even though her father had warned her of the dangers. There were fish not seen anywhere else, and plant life so dense you could hide inside and be completely invisible. It was a magical place to her, and Zanne couldn't understand her father for being so worried. She felt safe there. Look carefully at this piece. Look into the reef. This might be a magical place for you, too!

After a 30 year career in advertising and sales leadership I escaped the corporate media world a few years ago and can now focus on creating my own work. In other words, I'm an outsider artist that has decades of ideas pouring out. My intent is primarily to create pieces of art that are highly visual and interesting to enjoy and study... but may often express ideas, ask questions, unearth feelings, debate opinions, or sometimes be provocative. Like many paintings though, they're often just a combination of lines, shapes, colors, textures, and space. That said; I hope my work presents a UNIQUE combination of art elements to you and that you like what you see. Better yet, I hope you believe some of my pieces should be included in your collection. I've traveled the world but have always lived in the Philadelphia area. While I have no formal training as an artist, I've been a photographer and I've been around the art community my whole life. My wife Suzanne works as a Docent for the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, and together we've raised three wonderful sons that are all now making their own way in the world. We have a home and our studio in Chester County PA with our Bernese Mountain Dog; Mr Charlie.
