ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The beginnings “I’ve always had a willing for creation, ever since I was very young. I started painting around 35 years ago. I first learned to work with clay and then leather in sculpture. Painting came later and gave meaning to my life. I started out very humbly, showing my work to the public in exhibitions in towns near Versailles, in the Yvelines, close to Paris. At the time, I was showing very small formats on paper.” Residency in Eze Village “I had the opportunity to exhibit in a medieval village, Eze Village, near Monaco. Eze Village was a real artistic springboard for me. I had great success there and decided to take up residence. It was in this village high above the clouds that I immersed myself in my passion for acrylic paint and spray cans. I met a lot of international collectors who gave my all their feedback on my work. My style and style were affirmed, and I never ceased to strive to perfect my art. I then took part in various gallery exhibitions, notably at the Grand Salon d’Art Contemporain de Paris Bastille, and I now exhibit internationally in China, Canada and the United States. I currently live in Bretagne, France, surrounded by my wife, daughters and dogs, where I draw my inspiration from the calm, light and changing skies of Bretagne. I regularly exhibit my work between Paris and Eze Village.” The paintings “I work on series. My flagship series is called “Ordo ab Chao”. These are canvases with abstract motifs, very colorful and explosively toned, where an harmonious disorder reigns. My most figurative series is undoubtedly that of my semi-abstract “bestioles”. These are beings of all sizes, with big heads and surprised looks. Each has its own identity, its own outfit and its own name. There’s something for everyone, from Gérald to Myosotis to Pistache. In my quest to reinvent myself, I stumbled across a new idea that I really liked, and which later gave rise to the Échiquiers series, which then became a natural addition to my collection. In this series I play with geometric shapes, colors and details, while striving to maintain an orderly overall dynamic.”
