About The Artwork
The painting is part of an extensive art project to Wagner's bicentennial: „In Search of Wagner’s Last Muse. Arithmetic of Sound - Symmetry of Light“ – www.nma-art-wagner.com Diptych - 110 x 110 cm each ///////////////////////////////////////////////// Identity. Two as one – one almost and nonetheless two... through the division into two parts a third emerges – an internal picture. The expression of forms – simple as well as ambiguous; Three sides, one open, not tangible but still existent. Alike in correlation. The surface becomes space and therefore the second becomes a third. Subtle but aggressive the expression proceeds through the colors; Blue, white and red face each other mercilessly. This affect of colors undergoes a break only through the opening of the background into the abyss. The concrete is in opposition to a multi layered fog of color.

Born 1978 in Berlin/Germany, I was raised in a city, divided by a wall and having experienced both sides before and after the fall of the Berlin wall, my art is heavily influenced by the city‘s new-found sense of freedom, a spirit of unlimited possibilities and a feeling of former restrictions rupturing, leading to limitlessness. And that‘s exactly what art is to me, limitlessness, disturbance, feeling. I want people to see what they feel by breaking open familiar images into the abstract to provoke inner emotions. My paintings are expeditions into inner landscapes, creating an echo inside the observer, reflecting a part of their identity.
