This painting came about due to an overheard cell phone conversation about a relative in the hospital taking a breath at a time. This made me think about how our bodies are machines!

My artwork is my running commentary of my day to day life. My paintings are built around a conceptual figure that is expressed with color and expressive lines or brushstrokes. That figure tells the story of what I'm thinking about, what I overhear or what I've seen. This storyline becomes my starting point of what I want to say in my painting. I would like for someone to look at them and say " That's part of my own story. I see myself!" When that happens, the connection is magical!
