Ventsislav Zankov is a Bulgarian artist and sculptor born in 1962 in Sofia. He is one of the first Bulgarian avant-garde artists and works in various fields of art, including painting, sculpture, video, installation, performance, and new media. Zankov graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and has been a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA) since 1991.
He is known for his ability to master the plasticity of form and achieve modern implications and conceptualism even with traditional and classical techniques such as painting and sculpture. Ventsislav Zankov is uncompromising in his art and refuses to paint in a convenient and marketable style, preferring to remain true to his artistic principles.
Over the years, Zankov has participated in numerous exhibitions and projects both in Bulgaria and abroad. His works have been exhibited in various galleries and museums, including the Harta Gallery in the fall of 2023. He has also taught at the New Bulgarian University, where he shared his experience and knowledge with young generations of artists.
