Anna Surmiak is a self taught artist, born in Wroclaw, Poland. She was always interested in art, especially photography, but chose to study marketing as there was a demand at the time in a post-soviet country. Straight after she did her Master degree, she moved to London, where she attended University of the Arts London and started working as a fashion and product photographer. The fast, money oriented life in London was not her cup of tea and after 11 years there she moved to Berlin, where she lives until now and finally feels like at Home. In Berlin she started to paint and draw. She uses acrylic, canvas and paper for paintings. For drawings she uses extra soft pastels, charcoal, pencils and markers.
