fire of divine love Painting

I painted this artwork while staying in a monastery. I was inspired by the prayer in the liturgy: "Let the fire of divine love burn inside us!" This fire is not aggressive, but radiant and warm. I painted it intuitively, often with eyes closes. I allowed my hand to be guided. I had no plan for the painting. At the beginning my hand made many, many marks on the paper with a fineliner. Later I added pure watercolour and at the end a bit of white acrylic on the top. When I looked at the painting, I was surprised that there was so much light overall. The white of the paper is still there - even if I did not plan that. It is a symbol for me: The light is shining everywhere, even within the darknesses people have to go through. The fire of divine love is helping us.
