In this artwork, the artist has applied the acrylic paints with powerful movements without primer directly on the pure canvas with a large spatula. The paint application is predominantly missing on the wooden cross of the stretcher, seemingly separating the canvas into four parts. The four areas allow for variations in the arrangement of colors and textures on the canvas, so that each part can be viewed on its own. The red and orange contrasts strongly with the black in some places, to blend with the metallic copper in others. Viewed as a whole, a bright cross emerges with the horizontal and vertical running centrally, giving rise to associations with a cross associated with spirituality and faith.

I am a painter and photographer. In my painting processes, fascinating spaces open up that give me freedom and move my thoughts and feelings. The detachment from the real and representational in abstract painting fascinates me and it is the numerous variations that make the creation process exciting for me. I create small series of images with colors, shapes and structures that can be associated with landscapes or urban spaces, reminiscent of micro or macro views of something alive or lifeless or give my thoughts and feelings a new form of expression. I deal with a wide variety of themes from nature and culture, which I have been exploring with photography for many years. Macro photography in particular has given me views of details that would have remained hidden from me without tools. The photographic and painterly knowledge and experience combine in my artworks and allow the viewer*innen to go on an inspiring journey of discovery.
