About The Artwork

As I gaze upon the young man in my latest work, gently outstretching his hands towards nature's beauty, I am filled with wonder at life's daily lessons. Within his yearning eyes and tentative gesture lies a subtext we have all encountered - the struggle to understand our deepest selves, and learn control without crushing the human spirit. My brush has sought to capture not just a fleeting moment, but the timeless dance between our wilder instincts and reason's call. Like the fluttering creature he hopes to touch without harm, passion is best approached with care, sensitivity... and mindfulness of the gifts as well as perils it brings. Through patience and compassion for both others and self, we find the mastery that liberates. It is my hope that this piece may remind its viewers of life's eternal invitation to growth.

Jesutofunmi Ogidan is a visual artist born in Ilesa, Osun State. He is a multidisciplinary Visual artist who has always been curious to ask questions that are deemed uncomfortable in his generation. He holds a Bachelor's in Marine Science and Technology from the Federal University of Technology Akure. Jesutofunmi attempts to capture the plight of millennials in a fast-moving subjective world as it relates to history/historical events/phenomena repeating itself as though in a cycle. He expresses his art predominantly with Acrylics and oil paints, deliberately reflecting specific experiences and emotions. With his art, he attempts to relate the repetitive nature of human experiences to historical cycles and paint a glimmer of hope.
