ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece is quite a surprise - one of my favorites. Usually I paint in strait strokes, tight and light on dark. But here, those playful curly lines make me smile and rejoice. Song of praise, light at the end, spacious movement, generosity, joy of belonging, fireworks. The work was painted with acrylic, whereas I use raw pigments to prepare my own colours to reach precisely the transparency or thickness required. The surfaces of the diptych are therefore sensually lively: opaque and lucent, transparent and thick. Same contrast applies to the selection of colours: deep purple-brown on sky blue and cloudy grisaille. The work is signed, not framed, but ready to hang. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity with a listing of exhibitions and publications. Note: This piece is a part of my collection "Directions". The individual pieces may as well be pursued separately.
