About The Artwork

The "HOPE" series was created at the beginning of March 2022 - at the time when Russia declared war on Ukraine and the world was horrified and stunned to follow the events. The work of art "latibule" is the second image in the series, which is limited to a total of 8 pieces, and captures the artist's emotions during this time. Initial anger and speechlessness were processed in the first layer of the picture: letters were sprayed on wildly. These negative emotions were then painted over layer by layer and are intended to show that hope and goodness ultimately prevail. The artwork is entitled “latibule”. “Latibule” is a sanctuary, a hidden place where one is safe and secure. Among other things, mistletoe was also incorporated into the picture, which is a symbol of peace. The mixed media artwork has a size of 100cm x140cm and was painted on high quality canvas. Acrylic paints, wallpaper & napkin leftovers & pastel chalks & markers were used for this artwork. Part of the proceeds from this series will be donated to humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
