this piece (part of the series "lost innocence") tries to capture the early apparition of the dark human instincts . The kid is playing/torturing a dragonfly (a real one collaged to the canvas) as a way of experimenting cruelty and power. The poem in the painting (Alfonsina Storni) is about a woman adressing a man ,saying to him "you want me to be cast, to be white, to be pure..."
