ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The whole title is ".- / .--. .- .. ... .- --. . -- / ..-.. / ..- -- .- / .-.. .. -. --. ..- .- --. . -- / ... . -- / -.-. ---. -.. .. --. ---" (in Morse Code) "Message in a bottle" (Miab) is a series of paintings that I developed in 2021 when, due to a matter beyond my control, I was forced to stay in my country of origin for more than 2 months, far from the country to which I chose to emigrate, far from my paint shop, my couple... The Rio de Janeiro of the tourists is not the same Rio of the natives and residents. So, in that very depressive period, I settled for weeks in a friend's studio and started to paint a kind of diary, which I see today as a cry for help! Confessions about my anger at the situation, declarations of my longing for a touch, sexual desires and analyzes of "what am I doing here?" These are some of the themes that I wrote with brushes on canvas, using Morse code as the thread of the project. The works also have their titles and my signature in morse code on the back of the canvases. The title of the artwork is not the same message that was written/painted on the canvas.
