What drives us into nature, into the mountains. Why are some mountains more important to many people than others? It's the solitary ones, the ideograms. They are trademarks of the landscape. Their forms build up as a symbol of the unique mountain world. I paint them as an ideogram, as a landmark, as cloud dreams in the sky. The mountain is a memory in my mind's eye, the high Ifen in the small Walsertal in Austria. The picture is painted on canvas on a stretcher frame and with Chinese ink and acrylic. For the background I applied a fine layer of Japanese Washi paper on acrylic. The picture is signed with my logo on the front and my name and other data on the back.
