ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A lot of information and stimuli for the viewer to process in such a small painting. Intimacy is the key to understand the musical rather than visual composition. Forms and dots inspired by Aboriginal painting, tell a story of an octopus singer, underwater music. The sound underwater travel faster and is heard simultaneously. The colors of the painting likewise are conveived almost at the same time from the eyes. The dotting parts refer to the octopus legs. An allegro choice of mainly warm colors, with no much contrast, does not force the main theme. The viewer is encouraged to decipher the painting, use his/her own imagination and use the semi-abstract surface, as a projection of his/her own feelings.
