About The Artwork

As you can see, the painting 'over and over' is made up of 4x4 sections, each of which is divided into three oval shapes that overlap each other both horizontally and vertically. I start with a quick build-up of very thin transparent paint so that the work remains clear and soft. Then I will 'color' the surfaces/ shapes where they overlap until I think the whole has acquired a play of colour, shape and depth. The work is stretched on a wooden frame and is ready to hang on your wall.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

It all is about abstraction. Abstraction in the art of painting is an ongoing journey. Searching for the possibilities and boundaries of my paintings, composition, colour, shape, plane and space, detached from any reference or reality. Materials and the image, everything that turns a canvas into a painting, can evolve from the unfamiliar and unexplored to the more well known domain and back. The work reflects the daily interactions with painting. The searching for, executing of, preparing, inquiring, correcting, reflecting, registering, taking decision etc. Where I have once begun from a strict set of lines and planes, restrictions were lifted gradually, and the unpredictable took shape. Feeling and ratio collided. The many and diverse artistic experiments resulted in a range of spectacular works with series such as ‘what’s up, what’s down’, ‘van achter, van voren’, ‘crosspoints’, ‘what’s behind’, ‘front attack’ etc.
