Inspired by june gloom at the beachi n southern california, I wanted to create a series of squares using a fairly neutral palette with some dubdued colors added. i restricted my movement when applying the paint from left to right, letting each layer dry before adding the next layer. each piece stands on its own, but also works well together with others in a grid. Painting: Acrylic on Wood Handmade original painting created using Acrylic paints on Wood. Created by Peter Scherrer. Signed on the back. • Part of a Series, Inquire about discounts when buying multiple pieces • Professional high grade Wood Panels by Classic Artist Canvas LA • High grade acrylic golden paints are used exclusively. • No need to frame it. • I use a squeegee for most of my paintings. • My work consists of many layer. I treat each layer as the final painting. The last layer presents the painting. Thank you for your interest in my art. ~Peter Scherrer This minimal acrylic painting on wood will add a splash of style to any type of decor. Medium: Acrylic on Wood Size: 16 x 16 inches Tracking number will be provided after shipment.

Based in San Pedro, California a sleepy neighborhood in Los Angeles, I work out of an old 1920 warehouse. I often paint in the mornings, as i love the morning light that floods my space through the cracked old skylights. Frequently, I work in series. I like to go from canvas to canvas and by working on severall pieces at the same time I can keep the flow going for hours at the time. My works represent a moment in time. Consisting of usually many layers of paint, i approach each layer as if it were a final painting, a painting that then gets covered up again with a new layer, just as the landscapes and situations we walk through in life change. One of my paintings, in fact, is several paintings, but you happen to see only the current one that sits on top. I find inspiration in architecture, landscapes, wild postings, abandoned structures, shadow, reflections, music and so on. When i set out on a new painting, i start with a clean canvas, literally and mentally. I try not to have a plan but let the canvas guide me along the journey. My works are interpretations of what i see, or feel. Often they seem very real and permanent at that time, only to change again into something else. To me the layers that are not visible are just as important as that last layer that the viewer sees, as they add depth to the work, just as our experiences in life add depth and meaning to our individual stories.
