"portrait of men" serie No.01 Painting

For Susanne di Martino an artistic approach orientated to feeling is very important. She does not work out complex picture-worlds, but creates primarily atmospheric works which should allow the viewer an emotional access. She has consciously not given herself over to a single style, because the artist only sees the possibility of continually testing the boundaries of painting when there is stylistic variation. This attitude also mirrors her life's philosophy, which is built on the basic idea and belief of the constant change of all things. The continual further development of the "self" corresponds therefore to Susanne di Martino's changing formal expression of her pictures.
