About the Artist

Mario Saini

Italy

Mario Saini was born in Turin in November 1950 in Italy. He lives and works in Cerreto d'Asti, in a small art city in Piedmont.

He approaches the art of painting in adolescence
Immediately passionate about informal abstract art and “arte povera”.

We’re in the golden age of conceptual art of the 70s / 80s in Italy. From this period he begins to produce his works,

His research starts already from the support, with the reuse of ancient textile or wooden materials, patched fabrics or waste materials on which he works with colors and other material materials.

In recent years he has enriched his pictorial production with wooden "assemblages" giving life to sculptures, depicting imaginary animals or small surreal mechanisms.
