"san gimignano" Painting

My work emerges from a deep, meditative exploration of life’s essential truths and the raw freedom that unfolds when we release our inner constraints. Using a foundation of acrylics and charcoal, my compositions embrace an organic simplicity that aims to uncover the core of human experience. By working on raw canvas, I strip my process down to its most honest elements, allowing the textures, colours, and gestures to speak directly to the viewer without excess. My process is one of intuitive surrender, where each mark flows without a preconceived plan, embracing spontaneity over control. This freedom is central to my practice, inviting me—and by extension, the viewer—to experience the purity of creation unencumbered by judgment or expectation. Through a careful balance of gestural marks and simple, child-like drawings and writings, I construct pieces that feel simultaneously playful and grounded, echoing my personal philosophy of authenticity and openness. My choice of soft, pastel colour palettes serves to heighten this sense of naive innocence, creating visual spaces that are raw, playful and honest. For me, the act of painting is a journey of self-discovery and release, one that seeks not only to portray, but to invite reflection and inspire a sense of calm and freedom in the viewer.
