ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The pictures I took on my journeys are mostly landscapes. This one is inspired bij the trip to Iceland. The west-coast. The encaustic way of melting beeswax, mix them with pigments and oil-colors, give me the possibility to make landscapes out of my memory. The technic is unpredictable and spectacular to work with. The results are landscapes colored by my mind than real situations. Especially the emptiness, roughness and greatnessof Iceland inspires me and may be you recognize the landscapes of your own mind in these works in a special technic, encaustic art.
