#strangepeople (Dundeyan Cyclops) Painting

I produced a body of work inspired by a 'diary' of sorts called "The Travels of Sir John Mandeville", written around 1356 which served as a standard account of the East for a few hundred years. It turned out to be false, or otherwise greatly exaggerated. However some of the creatures claimed to have been encountered still entered historical chronicles throughout the world. That drew me in, and began to think about language vs. history. The mediums were intuitive, but wanted it to be somewhat simple. I generally work in a variety of media, so it's only natural to switch about.
