The art of megsparrow is heavily based on human condition and the emotional state of the social consciousness. Her paintings are expressive thru symbolic details. Her use of colour and images elusively narrate the complexity of the world around her, with mixed up roiling jumbles of figures her focus on a message that is conveyed through the images and text. Megsparrow's style is automatic and an urban collage of obsession. Inspired by nature, love, lust, beauty, life and death her flattened perceptions of experience allow the viewer to walk away with their own view point. Despite making art my whole life, I just didn't realise until later on how important it was to submerge myself fully and tap into this part of my persona completely. So I have begun my journey of exploration by simply letting go and evoking all my creative desires. Art is deeply rooted in my soul and looking back now I can identify my childhood and adolescent days to observing and collecting pieces of me. Searching for my ART - my voice. Always looking for the raw stripped back inner beauty and and workings of things to be inspired by or inspired to be. Art for me, is impulsive and spontaneous, I usually never control the layout of a painting, I just let it happen naturally and develop it along the way. However I do like to have a concept or a view point before I begin. I try to unfold a story within a piece of work, offering subtle hints and clues to allow the viewer to interpret a conversation with the piece and hopefully manage to inspire or to convert some sort of my message or awakened feeling within the viewer.
