I use art as a vehicle to document the world around me. I try to paint pictures that draw attention to things that other people might overlook. My choice of subject comes from intuition and is driven by an impetuous desire to participate in the stories unfolding around me. For example, when I look at a picture that caught my attention, I get in a certain mood that I think is very important. I register it and then automatically some of it goes into the work. That means I'm not trying to paint literally, but I'm trying to bring the emotions that are exerted on me closer to the viewer.
