December 1982, wandering through the tiny village where Ernest Hemingway used to live, I came across a photo of Fidel Castro exposed on the outside wall of a house. While preparing my Yashica, the people inside the house had seen me, and while I got ready to shoot, they had rushed out of the door to show me how proud they were of their Lider Maximo. In 1982 Cuba was not open for tourism yet and the spontaneity of the people towards strangers was disarming, seductive. For prints this photo is available in good quality digital format (16x24 300 dpi and 50x75 600 dpi)
