Two mountain guides direct a helicopter into land high in the Swiss Alps. I took this shot whilst shooting an extreme ski and snowboard competition - the Nendaz Freeride FWQ. I had been dropped just before on the peak and with the permission of the guides cowered down behind them to capture this shot when the remaining supplies were delivered. My lens took a bit of a battering and I could only hold myself in position properly for a few seconds as the rush of snow debris was insane at this point. This photograph was described by National Geographic Photographer Jay Dickman as, "A really fabulous photo that puts the viewer 'into' the frame. Lots of interesting power going on in this photo, from the body language of the two people in the foreground, to the helicopter, it all adds up to providing information so the viewer knows what's happening here. Great shot." The shot has gained me the following awards: Commended Finalist in the 'One Shot Monochromal' category for Travel Photographer of the Year 2014. Honourable mention in the Professional Photojournalism category of the Monochrome Awards 2014. Finalist in Outdoor Photographer of the Year 2014, Selected to be exhibited in Top 100 images for the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) members biennial. PRINT DETAILS: Available to purchase is print 3 of 5 of a strictly limited print run of 5. The print measures 762 x 508mm (30x20") - this includes a 5mm white border around the top, left and right of the image and a 20mm white border at the bottom where the print is numbered and signed in silver pen next to a small watermark of my logo. It is professionally printed as a black and white C-Type on Fuji Crystal Archive matt paper and comes complete with a signed certificate of authenticity. All printing, proof checking, packing and delivery will be conducted by myself.

Philip Field BA (Hons) ARPS - Professional award winning UK photographer. My photographic career started in my late twenties when living in the alpine town of Verbier, Switzerland. Having always had a passion for photography and the great outdoors, my eye was naturally drawn to capturing an adventurous lifestyle, be it sport, nature or travel.
