About The Artwork
Just around the corner of my house (near Amsterdam), there is this appartment building located next to large pond. Whenever I pass, I admire its long balcony shadows on the terracotta plastered wall, which has a Mediterranean feel. To make this aspect the main subject, I duplicated the surface so the rhythmic impression is more prominent, just like the reflections continue the vertical lines of the building structure. The building is entitled De Muzen (the Muses), which I used also as an element for the title. This is a limited edition pigment print on Ilford Pearl photographic paper. It is shipped in a tube and needs to be framed by the client. It is handsigned and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Please note: the Image size is 45 x 45 cm / paper size is 59,4 x 61 cm (23.4 x 24 inches). It is also available in two other sizes: Large: 120 x 120 cm / 47 x 47 inches (print behind plexiglass) Medium: 70 x 70 cm / 27 x 27 inches (print behind plexiglass)

I am a photographing artist based in The Netherlands. In 1990 I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tilburg specializing in photography, painting and drawing. Since the development of digital photography my camera and computer have become my main tools for creation. Because of my fascination with patterns, music scores, systems of writing and other graphic structures, my work always has been inhabited by geometric shapes, lines and rhythm. My current passion is the abstract beauty of architecture. Through my photographic compositions I hope to inspire and touch people's souls.
