Photography: Color and C-type on Paper.

This photograph is from the third chapter of the photography book 'The Unseen: An Atlas of Infrared Plates (Schilt Publishing 2016) and document flooding in India.

Infrared was historically used in the flooding of the Red River Valley to try to illustrate damage of salt water to crops. In this series Thompson aimed to refocus the use of infrared to focus on damage of flooding to people instead of agriculture.
