This is an architectural close up detail study of one of the beautifully intricate privacy screens at Amer Fort (also called Amer Palace, Amber Fort or Amber Palace) which is perched on the top of a hill above the city of Amer close to Jaipur in Rajasthan. I like the way this image becomes very graphic, geometric, symmetric and abstract by focusing on just the lattice and not including the frame of the window. These latticed screens were designed to allow the queens and ladies to watch the proceedings of the royal court in privacy. The architectural style of Amer Palace is a blend of Hindu and Muslim influences, built out of sandstone and marble, and contains a series of impressive palaces, gardens, temples and halls. It was built by Raja Man Singh in 1592, and the following three predecessors over a time-span of about two centuries. Amer Fort is also listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. A signed print from a limited edition of 25. Printed with a white border to accommodate framing/mounting and the signature - the actual size of the printed image is 113.9 x 80.1 cm. Should you have any questions about any of my artworks, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via my website ("globe" button under my profile photo). Beautifully Giclée printed on Hahnemuhle Pearl paper - a slightly textured 285 gsm. semi-gloss paper which holds more detail with punchier colours than a matt paper, whilst maintaining a illustrative/ painted feel. Technology: Epson UltraChrome HDR Wide Gamut Inks with archival life expectancy: 40 years daylight, 200 years in dark. All prints are professionally printed to ensure the absolute best quality and consistency. I pride myself in strict quality control, hence I only use top professional printers based here in London.

I am a freelance photographer based in London. I enjoy a big love for travelling, which not only takes me around the world – with many great new images as a result – it's also a continuing source of inspiration which influences and feeds my passion for photography. With a background that started with drawing and illustration, which in turn lead to graphic design I believe the foundation of the way I compose my captures is very much affected by this. I often look for very graphic compositions with strong lines, large areas of strong colour, negative space and pushing the boundaries of traditional rules of composition. There is also a different approach to the way I like capturing my images when it comes to more travel reportage images. Still looking to isolate my subject, either by using shallow focus, leading lines, concentrating of light, picking out splashes of colour, and other techniques. Most images are very much as a spectator, fly on the wall if you like - I generally don't like posed images. I feel I get a truer picture when I don't interfere, but also I'm not hiding in the distance with a tele-lens - I like to be close to my subjects in plain sight.
