Antarctic Mist - Limited Edition of 20 Photograph

The artist travelled to Antarctica in 2014 and reflected on the explorers such as JD Hooker who had been one of the first to see this other world. The artist chose a mix of today's photographic equipment and the photographic method of the days of these first explorers to create this artwork - digital photography and Cyanotype. Each print is created individually. The chemical is hand painted onto paper and a transparency is laid over the paper and exposed to sunlight for a set time. Exposure is dependent on the time of year and the position and intensity of the sun. Nature is used to capture nature.
