A vintage color image made in 1974 on Kodak medium format Ektacolor Professional, color negative film.. It is a composition found in a stream in the Adirondack Mountains of NY. The image was made with a medium format TLR Rolleiflex camera. In the 70's, I was one of the very few working in color, and one of even fewer who regularly exhibited in a NYC Uptown gallery. At that time, color was not considered stable enough to be sold as fine art. I had a different opinion. Obviously, it was. This is a new print (made by me) from a scan of the original negative Between 1978 and 1980, my work was represented by the Alonzo Gallery on W.57th St. and appeared in many exhibitions. In 2009 I was one of four photographers featured in the second issue of COLOR magazine and featured 16 images from this period. This new print is made on 22" X 17" Epson Exhibition Fiber paper with Epson K2 pigment inks, which are very stable. The image measures 15" X 15" and is titled and numbered on the lower left in archival pen. It is signed and dated with the year of creation, on the lower right, in archival pen. On the reverse, in pencil appears the date of the print, type of paper, and ink type. The artist's thumb print is also on the reverse. A Certificate of Authenticity is included, also with the artist's signature and thumb print.

BLACK FRIDAY SALE ON MY WEBSITE Mr. Martin is a citizen of the USA, having been born in upstate New York State and spending his youth in the small rural village of Clinton. Because of this exposure, and frequent trips to their summering spot in the Adirondack Mountains, nature became a part of him. Naturally, it would become expressed though his art, which was inspired by his father, a part time professional photographer and amateur watercolor painter. When he was young, professional cameras were ever present, as well as a fully equipped darkroom. There was a mystique about photography, and "that place", that he wanted to know, so he convinced his father to teach him. Thus began a life long career as a fine art photographer. Later, he went on to study fine art photography at college, and earn an MFA in photography so as to be able to teach photography on the college level, have time to produce his work, and earn a living from what he loved. He was a fine art photography teacher for over thirty years, and is now retired, having done so in 2008, to concentrate full time on his work. Over the years, Mr. Martin has won numerous awards and feature articles have been published about him in national and international publications. Recently, his pictures have been featured in the UK, Australia, and the USA. His flora images of hosta plants have won first place awards in the Prix de la Photographie, Paris, the International Photography Awards (The Lucies), and the International Garden Photographer of the Year.
