The series is straightforward in its idea and realisation. It is all about chairs left on London streets. Abandoned or left unattended, London streets are flooded with chairs, which is not a surprise as it is one of the most popular pieces of furniture. It is also one of the most used, which is why they break often. And since we live in a consumerist era, it is easier for people to get a new one rather than repair it. The chair in this series is a metaphor for people's lives, habits, and behaviour patterns. And since in London people discard of such things by simply leaving them on the streets next to their houses, it is easy to observe the circulation of chairs for the project. As a conceptual street photographer, Aleks explores colour matching, geometry, symmetry, and harmony in his series, seeking composition and balance amid the chaos of a megapolis. By looking at the world differently Aleks intentionally collaborates with viewers' imaginations, pushing them to overdrive by examining his works. Aleks never moves or interacts with the objects but captures them as they are left. Interestingly, it is often the last thing that comes to mind, as people discard objects in a beautiful yet unintentional way. Aleks discovers such discarded items and applies his visual style, whether it's an urban cityscape, a dumped chair, or a pile of rubbish. He questions what he sees and how he can perceive the same things differently, showcasing colours and colour spots intertwined with compositional and geometrical rules, leaving people to decide and layer meanings.
