I capture cans found on the streets of Brooklyn as a metaphor for our lives. Although they have been through tough times, these objects remain intact and tell their own unique story. I strive to portray all the details and nuances - the scratches and dirt, the ridges and curves - to demonstrate how life has shaped each one into something incredible and beautiful. Through my work with these everyday objects, I'm inspired by our life's cycle and reminded of my own journey of survival and eventually thriving in spite of adversity. Therefore, it was crucial for me to keep the cans as I found them so that every detail can be accurately captured at macro level for viewers to appreciate and understand.
