ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The image was photographed with a digital camera and then later manipulated to give the the look and feel of the old polaroid. The image was photographed on a recent trip that took me through Colorado on my way to Montana. It is produced on Moab Entrada Bright Rag Paper with a 1/2 Border and digitally signed and comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity. Skip Nall has been producing images photographically for more than thirty years. It all started when his father gave him an old Argus Rangefinder at the age of fifteen. Colorado Road is part of a series of images I am currently working on to produce the look of the old Polaroid Film. After working as an advertising and industrial photographer Skip now produces fine art and abstract imagery. Having studied Zen for twenty years his imagery reflects a very Zen like quality as he takes each image and then allows the edit to come as water over stone. Other sizes and substrates available by request. .

When I was about 12 my father gave me his Argus Rangefinder. I instantly fell in love with photography. When I was in my mid twenties I was photographing advertising, corporate and editorial assignments in Dallas, TX., doing assignments for clients such as telecommunications companies, oil and steel companies, real estate and banking. In 1995 American Airlines sent me to Germany to photograph a story on the popularity of the American Cowboy there. Later that year they sent me to France to photograph a story on wine. During this trip I made my first visit to Paris and fell in love with "La Ville-Lumière" and made the decision to take a hiatus from advertising, concentrate on travel photography and move to Paris. I traveled Europe and then from there visited and eventually moved to Asia where I photographed the image I am best known for, “Jungle Journey” sold by IKEA world wide and is today one of the most recognized photographs in the world. While I still do assignment work including corporate, editorial, industrial and architecture more and more of my work is exploring photography and digital imagery as an art from. Artistic creation is my passion. I am continually trying to learn, to see things in a new way and grow as an artist.
