This column was placed on the waters edge I assume that it was used for measuring the height of the tides This area is an inter tidal zone which is inhabited by prawns and bloodworm which are targeted by fishermen .When the tide is low the fishermen descend upon the prawn beds to pump for prawn and bloodworm which are both excellent baits for the fish which are endemic to the area. It is a vast, peaceful expanse of water. The column is privy to the daily ebb and flow of the tides...I loved the simplicity of the scene...which is often shrouded in early morning mist...
