12. Dancer series 3 (1976) Two friends who I had known, one from work and the other from a cabaret show I had documented for a photo project did a free form dance at an artistic style house in the Hollywood Hills in 1977. The result was interesting as the house setting fit perfectly for the improvised dance moves. The natural light and windows added to the overall picture as the light and shadows played with each other. Shot of Tri-X film at a high ISO, I intentionally wanted to show the grain to create a moody feeling of them performing. Limited edition of 15 prints, signed and numbered. I grew up with photography as my father worked as a reporter/photographer in the late 1940s to the early 1950s, before he became involved in the aerospace industry. Through him I became fascinated with the magic of photography. I began to take photo classes in college and later attended Art Center College of Design, graduating in 1976. I had a small studio on Sunset Blvd through the late 1980s then did a trip to Thailand and decided to move there in 1990. Over the years I have worked for Habitat for Humanity, World Vision, and done assignments for The United Nations, Newsweek, Gamma Liaison, Getty Images. Animal Planet, Homeless International and other organizations in Asia.
