Fan of the Wave, Limited Edition #7 of 10 Photograph

'Fan of the Wave' is a digital collage created from manipulated photographic elements. The subject matter is influenced by my love of Japanese Ukiyo-e (woodblock) prints, and in particular the work of Hokusai. Images of water and waves are a thread that runs through my work and here the 'Great Wave' has been reproduced as a 'folding fan'. If you look closely into the work you will also see other references to Japanese art and Hokusai's work—the fish, Mt Fuji, bamboo and the famous seikaiha (wave) pattern. This Giclée print is from a Limited Edition of only 10 prints. The museum-grade fine art print is titled, signed, dated, and numbered by hand according to the conventions of limited edition prints. The print is also shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity, which states that the work only exists as one of 10 prints, and has been printed with archival quality Ultrachrome pigment based K3 inks onto Innova Softex Fine Art Paper (315gsm).
