Gayane Photograph - Limited Edition of 75

This painting titled Gayane is another one of Hacob’s earlier work. Named after the Famous Gayane Ballet and influenced by the music of Aram Kachaturian, this work conjures up visuals of what an abstract set for this ballet could have been. The flow and silky brushed colors are to evoke the beautiful tones in Gayane’s Adagio but also weaves a narrative for the story itself. One could imagine this be the cotton warehouse in the ballet or some village interior in Armenia. There is a wonderful balance and hierarchy within this composition with undulations of spatial depth that gives this painting perception of proximity and closeness. Tiny accent lines such as the red wave or the foreground green grass inspires presence of life and the bright white lines gives the illusion of light and the depth in the space. This work like all the images here in this Gallery was achieved through LightPainting in the Camera. By DRAGGING the camera in various direction while exposing it to multitudes of background lights, textures and colors and with a little bit of manipulations in post I am able to achieve the images such as this and all the rest in this Gallery.
