This shoot was taken in Omo Valley- South Ethiopia, year 2012 This photo focused perfectly on the eyes, a characteristic technique of African portraits by Carlo Mari It has been more than 30 years since Carlo Mari started photographing people of East Africa. Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda are the principal Countries lived by him. B&W and color photos which fix the way of living and traditions risking to disappear in a short time. Many books on this item are signed by the Author. Among them we do not forget "My Africa" distributed all around the world by Thames & Hudson 2003 This photo is printed with all FineArt Giclée criteria, on 305gr cotton paper. 12-color printing with pigment inks, which ensure longevity without any chromatic alteration, on 3mm D-bond with anti-acid glue. The size is 70x100cm. Photos are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity with all features and the author’s signature. Also the signature and a dry mark on back print. On request in different sizes.

Carlo Mari, born in Milan in 1959, eclectic photographer of reportage, fashion and advertising, with indiscutibile professional origins related to travel and nature. He has known the world over and under the sea, but Africa has bewitched him ever since he was a child. In the fascinating paradise of East Africa he lives for several months a year in close contact with nature and tribal peoples. Carlo Mari has to his credit many photographic books published throughout the world of which 6 concern East Africa, including Kenya and Tanzania. He was born photographer. For years he was sent by "The Harvill Press" of London in East Africa to document the wildlife of this fascinating land. Two important books are the result of this long cooperation: "The Great Migration", described by the authoritative BBC Wildlife Magazine as "…nothing less than a work of art" and "Pink Africa", an extraordinary photo story of the African pink flamingo. He has always cooperated with famous writers among whom Kuki Gallmann for the book "SAFARI" (F & T, 2002). In Paris he published the book "Animal Man", a research about seduction (2003). "My Africa", one of his latest creations, has joined in Germany the list of best-selling photographic books (2004) In 2009 he realized with Leonardo International the book about Pope Benedict XVI, visiting Montecassino Abbey. He is known for his photographs of nude and for his limited edition of FineArt photographs of Africa, present in many private collections all over the world. His recent visit to southern Ethiopia has created an exclusive collection of Fine Art portraits.One of his last artistic researches has driven him beyond the sea, to celebrate great whales and predators of the oceans. Carlo Mari is internationally known for its fineArt pictures of African people, animals, nature and nude pictures. In all his mages you have the clear perception of Carlo Mari’s creativity, creativity and sensitivity that have made him become a true artist-photographer. Through the pictures he expresses his perceptions and emotions and shares them with everyone who looks at his photos.
