ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Mireille Roobaert, photographer-storyteller, interprets architecture in everything, to show us its reality. In her new series entitled "Les iris de la forêt", she dreams up the living nature of trees, and places the notion of observation in abyss, through a unique point of view, a look at ourselves. The digital revolution has unleashed the creativity of this visual artist of the image, who has made anamorphoses her incarnate language. For 20 years, she has been using technologies as a tool of transformed realism, and creates virtual spheres, matrices of her phantasmagoria. In this avant-garde naturalist study, she juxtaposes reality and virtuality. This raw understanding of the forest is digitally composed for each assemblage of a dozen photos of trees. Mireille listens to nature, learns to decode the gaze of branches. This exhibition opens our eyes to twenty-four mirrors of a living wooden soul. In the pupil of these surrealist compositions, we see the ground. Like an impression of levitation, one is carried away by the vertigo of the point of view. The photographer interprets the effects of the undergrowth, and all forests are another, a reflection of humanity as so many piercing pupils, dilated or contracted, also in the shape of an ogival, like the eyes of cats. Each image is made up of twelve photographs, such as the twelve hours of time, and the months of the year.look at the forest at the bottom of the eyes.

The IRIS DE LA FORÊT by Mireille ROOBAERT In the heart of the forest, where the trees dance with the light filtered by the leaves and branches, lies a mysterious and captivating world captured by the lens of Belgian photographer Mireille Roobaert. His photos, begun 5 years ago, brought together under the evocative name "Les Iris de la Forêt", take us on a poetic journey into nature. The work of the Belgian photographer gives trees a numinous character, elevating them to the rank of sacred figures in our collective consciousness. Through his photographs, trees become portals to an enchanted world, where time seems suspended and harmony reigns supreme. The circle evokes the sun, the moon and the eternal cycles of nature. Without beginning or end, without direction or orientation, it symbolizes the unity and continuity of all things. The trees of the forest also offer valuable lessons about patience and perseverance. Their slow but steady growth reminds us that great achievements take time and determination. Their ability to rise toward the light despite the obstacles that stand in their way inspires men to pursue their dreams even in the darkest of times. Each image is composed of 12 assembled photographs which are taken in long exposure, this adds an additional dimension to his works, capturing the passage of time and revealing the ephemeral beauty of each moment. It is as if time itself slows down to allow us to fully appreciate the splendor of nature around us and to allow ourselves to be enveloped by its tranquility and to feel the calming presence of the trees. We are invited to meditate on our own relationship with nature, this series of photos remind us that nature, too, observes us. Ultimately, “Irises of the Forest” are not just photographs, they are visual meditations evoking our place in the delicate balance of the global ecosystem. They encourage us to cultivate a respectful relationship with our forests, recognize their inestimable value and work for their preservation, so that future generations can also lose themselves in the contemplation of their timeless beauty. Thank you, it is truly gratifying to know that this work arouses enthusiasm and delight in those who discover it. This series appears to be much more than just a collection of images; it has become a true source of exploration, human connection and sharing of experiences.
