About The Artwork

Signed Limited Edition print with artists certificate of authenticity. The illuminated glazed entrance and atrium to the northern block of the County Hall, Lambeth, London. Accessible from Forum Magnum Square. The County Hall Building is by Architect Ralph Knott in an Edwardian Baroque style. The main building was completed in 1922 with the Northern and Southern blocks being completed between 1936 and 1939. Once occupied by the Greater London Council the complex of buildings have experienced much political controversy over the years and the north block was converted to luxury apartments completed in 1996. The nearby stretch of the Thames South Bank with its proximity to Westminster and the London Eye is extremely busy during the day but becomes a quiet backwater at night. Several entrances to County Hall provide often missed glimpses into the beckoning courtyards beyond. This particular lofty illuminated atrium comes into its own as a welcoming feature on a wet and windy night as clouds race across the London sky Printing I only use luxury papers and highest quality inks that hold their colours for a lifetime. I have spent years perfecting processing and printing skills and I maintain control of the quality of the colour representation at all stages. Sizing / Materials I am happy to reproduce images in other sizes and on other materials to suit your requirements. This image is also available on luxury ChromaLuxe aluminium. Please make contact for sizing/pricing. Canvases are unframed and unmounted, they will need to be stretched or framed locally once they are received. Alan Sayers (December 1959) is an architectural and landscape photographer originally from Manchester and Cumbria, UK. After several years in the Middle East he now resides in Poland travelling extensively. Alan was captivated and intrigued by photography at an early age picking up a medium format film camera from a church jumble sale when he was just 8 years old. Formal photography training at University allowed him to become proficient in technical aspects and in film processing before embracing digital mediums and alternative imaging processes. He gained a BSc in Land Administration/Estate Management and earned an MSc in Construction Project Management. He went on to build an accomplished international career in construction, architecture, and engineering. After freelancing as an amateur for many years he dedicated himself to photography full time becoming fully professional in 2016 working on building an international body of work which he is now making public. Currently, we are in a realm within which photography occupies a wide spectrum spanning "traditional" mediums, digital art, and capturing reality. In his search for meaning, Alan has adopted imaging and the photographic medium as his voice and means of expression. Always a keen observer of life empathetic to people and his surroundings Alan sees the world with deep insight and in unique ways having learned to harness feeling and emotion as part of his creative journey. In an approach aimed at simplification, abstraction and minimalism Alan's style captures such matters as the essentials of composition, rhythm, colour, pattern and geometry and incorporates the technical detail and the clarity to offer unique perspectives. His practice also represents a quest for personal discovery unlocking to the viewer the concept that art is in everything, the world has meaning and was conceived with purpose and value.
