I took this photograph in the cloister of the Jerónimos Monastery in Lisbon, Portugal. My intention was to show the beauty of Manueline architecture, which has a wide variety of adornments. To do this, I positioned myself in the middle of two arches, so that I could show both the internal details and the view I had to the outside. Thus, the arches functioned as a frame for the external view and the contrast of lighting highlighted their shapes. For architecture-loving art collectors, I make this artwork available here, for sale.

Martiniano Ferraz is a Brazilian artist who lives in Recife, Pernambuco. It was during holiday trips, while still working as an architect, that he was charmed by photography. Nature, architecture and the urban are the themes he usually photographed. From 2020, while isolated in his home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Martiniano Ferraz began to produce also geometric and abstract digital arts, where it is common to have vibrant colors and three-dimensional effects. One of its greatest sources of inspiration, in the use of color, is the art produced by the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes.
