Man Resting in Temple. Bagan, Myanmar. - 2 of 10 Limited Edition. Photograph

We were in Bagan in Myanmar in the mid 80's visiting the temple complex there. On the way to the larger buildings I passed this man resting in what was an ante room to the main area. I had a split second to get this, as soon as the shutter had been released he was up and away. The darker areas on the walls behind, him I worked out later, indicate the height that was in easy reach to wipe with a cloth. The thing that gets me the most about the image is that he is resting his head on a brick which isn't how I would have taken my rest-break but it does take all sorts. Originally shot on Kodak Tri-X film with a Leica M2, the negative has been scanned and printed on A3+ Canson Baryta Photographique 310 gsm paper. Paper size 48.3cm x 32.9cm. Image size 45cm x 28.3cm. Signed, dated, titled and edition number on verso. Sent with a Certificate of Authenticity.
