This image was shot on the beach at Magaluf, Mallorca. It brings back all my childhood memories of living on the beach in Sydney, Australia. The smell of the salt water, the sand between your toes. The pastel colours and bright light bring only happy memories. Shot on a Leica M 240- Digital photo, printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag.

Originally hailing from the southern beaches of Sydney, Australia. Photographer Grant Smith spent most of his adolescence doing what he is passionate about; surfing, travel and taking pictures with the humble camera obscura. Coming from a long line of seafaring heritage, his Grandfather a Navy Veteran from World War II and father a Marine Mechanic, Smith was bound to forge a career coinciding with mother nature. Smith’s love of the ocean and nomadic outdoor adventure has shaped his photographic style which is considered to be cinermatic, conceptual and narrative lead. Smith resides in London, UK. When he’s not taking pictures he can be found surfing abroad or falling over in London skate park.
