Melt - Limited Edition of 15 Photograph

This image is entitled ‘Melt’. Produced in the Swiss alps, this artwork is a time-lapse image of fast-flowing meltwater from a glacier. Meltwater gets is incredible colour from 'Rock Flour', the name given to the millions of small particles of rock eroded by the glaciers slow movement, and which are ultimately absorbed into the melting water of the glacier itself. The intense colour is ultimately created when light reflects off these particles. I adore this image; the colour, the freshness of the water, water which just a few days previous had been ice for thousands of years. I try to capture not just the mood of the environment in which I produce landscape imagery, but the final image must also reflect a degree of how an image makes me feel. It is a very personal experience then, and with landscape imagery in particular, I tend to follow my own path rather than through inspiration from the work of others. ‘Melt’ was captured using a full-frame Canon DSLR camera. This image is sold unframed, the size of the actual printed image of this artwork is 42.8" x 15.67” This print comes with a 2” white border on which the artists signature features on the lower right hand corner.
