Muir Woods Photograph

I am a Fine Art Photographer & Artist based in Brooklyn, New York. I show my photographs, paintings, and illustrations in New York City galleries. I graduated from the School of Visual Arts with my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography in 2008. I currently work for Clinique, as the Director of Digital Asset Management. My aesthetic is to create images that are a time travel to the salvage of a simpler Victorian time period. I hunt for unique characteristics that will make the image distinctive and otherworldly. I search for the way the dappled light drapes over the roots, the skeleton shapes the trees form, and the quietness of natural beauty as my heart beats quickly hoping that I have captured the physical elegance and splendor of the moment. My intent is to photograph in busy urban places where the characteristic of the fairy-tale picture is unexpected. On one level these images appear to be hidden landscapes; however, the title of each print makes the viewer conscious of the outside world. These images were taken in the metropolitan areas of New York City, New Jersey, and the places I travel too. This body of work is intensely personal since the images illuminate a consciousness of seclusion, romanticism, and sophistication that evokes an ethereal and delicate dream world.
