VIEW IN MY ROOM
Besides using photography to explore the interaction of form, texture, and light, I also want to imagine each flower as though it possesses a unique voice or "personality" and that it's my role as a photographer to reveal it. I decide what I want to express in the photograph by carefully observing in natural light each flower’s inherent formal language which I explore on a small, intimate scale while being aware of my own subjective feelings and using all of these to guide me in the making of the photograph. Each image represents a moment of discovery and joy. Ultimately, the photographs remind me of the beauty and elegance of nature and how restorative and uplifting it can be.
