In October 2018, I was in residence at the NKD - Nordic Artists' Centre Dale in Norway. A magical place among the fjords in the west of the country. I was invited to spend a month in that timeless nature, in places where the eye shifts from losing the perception of depth to seeing almost to infinity. From macro to micro, a world to observe in silence and contemplation. During those days, in addition to creating a series of works called Inner Nature, the result of my artistic residency, I took various photographs, almost all in black and white, to capture my presence in that place, using my beloved Hasselblad. Among these is this shot, taken just before sunset, in an October that in Norway foreshadows a freezing winter. The print for sale was hand-printed by me in the darkroom on Ilford silver gelatin paper (Ilford Multigrade RC Deluxe 25M) using a chemical process. Since each photograph is hand-printed, the images, although identical, may vary in some small details and have minor working marks such as dust or clips, imperceptible tonal variations, or slight differences in framing. This, of course, makes each print unique. The prints are embossed on the front with the wording (Handmade print - Germano Serafini) and described, signed, numbered and dated on the back.

Germano Serafini was born in Rome in 1975, the city where he lives and works. Nature in its entirety is the main protagonist of his shots, inspiring and an example to follow. His researches delve into the purity of the unconditional natural order, and stand at the dividing line between the visible and the invisible.
