Amrita Bilimoria’s work is evocative, raw and nuanced. A fusion of effortless glamour, elegance, strength and power. Seamlessly weaving the contemporary with the classic, where light and line are expressed, through an intimate perspective and vibrant visual narrative. Whether monochrome, muted in natural earthy hues or theatrical and bold; specific colour palettes are meticulously created, to provide depth and emotional impact to the imagery. Amrita’s work focuses on organic, botanical shapes and textures found in the fascinating language of flowers, inspired by vintage botanical illustration. And her passion project, portraying diverse equestrian disciplines and the poetic minimalism of the equine form, through unique and insightful photographs of the horse in style and sport. Born in London, Amrita grew up between the UK and Saudi Arabia. She graduated with a degree in Economics & Politics MA (Hons) from The University of Edinburgh, after which she joined Morgan Stanley in London. Following an incredible fifteen year career in investment banking, she left in 2013 to pursue a new chapter with her longstanding passion for art, photography and the equine world. Amrita’s artistic vision of the horse has been shaped by a lifelong bond that began in the saddle at age four. Amrita played competitive polo for twelve years whilst working in The City, playing in the UK, Argentina and India. She has travelled extensively in Spain on horseback and trekked across the Andes, from Argentina to Chile in one of the most epic rides. Immersed in equestrian culture, her work is deeply inspired by personal experience and influenced by adventure, equine sport, and travel. Amrita has created tailored visual projects, with both written and image based commercial content, working to brief with luxury lifestyle brands; and leading thoroughbred horse breeders, racing owners and trainers. Her in-depth work on the thoroughbred racehorse, has been published in a coffee table book, collaborating with India’s preeminent thoroughbred stud farm. Amrita’s art photography has been exhibited in the UK, France and Singapore.
