Vladimir Borele is a fine art photographer based in Kazakhstan. Influenced by renowned writers and childhood memories of his small hometown, Vladimir searches for meaning through visual poetry. His work encompasses several strands: explorations of mortality through Polaroid images of degraded surfaces, both natural and man-made; themes of a broken world, psychological trauma; examinations of emigration, identity, and self-realization amidst the fluid moralities and new paradigms of the data age. Using a Polaroid camera, Vladimir captures fleeting moments of reality and transforms them through the rare technique of Polaroid emulsion lift. He values the tactile experience, so he uses watercolor paper with a rough texture and Polaroid emulsion that disintegrates under his fingers. Vladimir shares his knowledge of photography through teaching in Kazakhstan and online. He actively participates in international exhibitions and is a winner and finalist in several photography competitions.
